ULLI KRON TRIO

Already beginning of 1985 ULLI KRON entered a stage the first time with his first Swing and Boogie-Woogie Trio and established soon in the European Blues and Boogie-Woogie scene. Due to his work with well-known american and british vocalists he developed a style of his own after a short while.

In the course of the years he recorded several albums under his name and appears as guest musician on various productions. At the end of the 1980's doors opened to festivals, clubs and radio and TV shows all over Europe. Furthermore he was awarded with the "German Oscar For Minor Arts" in 1989.

Besides his activities as a soloist and accompanist Ulli Kron was a founding member of the legendary Piano Boogie Quartet. Later his interest turned more to Swing, archaic Blues and Jazz ballads. The first result of this development was the 1994 formed Jump'n'Jive band Ulli Kron & The Swinging Blues Maniacs" which has recorded two more albums.

At the beginning of the new millennium he turned back to where he started with – THE ULLI KRON TRIO – lined up with today's most excellent musicians.
Ulli Kron has toured more than a dozen European countries, from Norway to Greece, from Ireland to Hungary, and in 2010 he celebrates his 25th anniversairy on stage.

Ulli Kron is accompanied by the swinging double-bass-player PETER GROPP who became well-established far beyond local borders for his long-lasting work with various Sinti Swing Groups. Not least due to his powerful and dynamic style, his experience and his versatility he became the backbone of the Ulli Kron Trio.

RÜDIGER MAYER, born 1966, is a drummer who feels home in a lot of music styles, but his real love is for Jazz, Blues and Boogie Woogie. Mayer plays the drums since 1980 and worked in small groups playing modal Jazz and Latin as well as in Big Bands. He is a perfect playing time-keeper who fits unobtrosively but always present into Ulli Kron's playing. Together with Ulli Kron he has been touring all over Germany for more than 15 years now.
